As the expression goes, “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.” Images are one of the qualities of a good blog post. Imagine a blog without images. In this WordPress tutorial, I will show you how to add an image to an article and page

There are two methods of inserting images on WP article or page,

  1. Via URL- This involves copying the URL of the image you want to use
  2. uploading from your PC or mobile device- For this method, you must first download the image to your device before you can start the process.

How to Insert Image To WordPress Post/Page

  1. On your article, click on the point you want the image to be added.
  2. Click on Add Media at the top left How to add image on WP post and page
  3. Then on Upload files How to add image on WP post and page
  4. Choose the image you to add and click open
  5. After it has been uploaded, you can change the title, add a caption, alt text and description. How to add image on WP post and page
  6. Scroll down to ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS, you can change the aliment, the size and where you want the image to be directed to when someone clicks it. How to add image on WP post and page
  7. Finally, click Insert into post.

How to Insert Image To WordPress Post/Page Via URL

This is almost the same as the above

  1. Click at the point you want the image to be added.
  2. Click on Add Media
  3. At the left of the page, click Insert from URL 
  4. Copy the image URL and paste it on the box provided.
  5. The image will automatically be displayed
  6. After that, you can add the title, add a caption, alt text and description.
  7. Scroll down to ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS, you can change the aliment, the size and where you want the image to be directed to when someone clicks it.
  8. Finally, click Insert into post.

Note:

  • Title- Fill in with the name of the image file. If necessary, you can change and enter a custom name for the image. It is advisable to use the keyword.
  • Caption- The caption should be filled in for users. If the installed theme supports image caption output, it will be visible.
  • The Alt text- This attribute must be filled for search engines. They can’t read images, so they look at Alt. What is written in it, so they will read your picture and know what is all about. It would be nice to use a keyword in Alt.
  • Description- It is necessary to fill it out for the search engine. There you should write a short description of the image and preferably use a keyword.
